Behind and Ahead

2021

In the Rearview

2021 has come to a close. What a year it was! I know I have been very quiet the last seven months or so. Now that things have settled down, for the most part, I will share why the radio silence for seven months. My husband Kevin and I purchased a house in July of this year.

It all happened very quickly, but we have seen God’s hand at work so many times throughout the process. We had been rather casually looking (online) at houses since 2020. We’d note different houses that would come-up for sale, look at the pictures posted online, talk about it, daydream, etcetera.

One Thursday mid-June, Kevin woke me to say a house had come-up that fit our criteria. That started the ball rolling and within a couple of hours, we had contacted a realtor, friend of one of my besties, and had an appointment to see the house that day.

Fast forward six weeks and we were signing paperwork. Willow was officially ours!!

We can now begin renovations. The house was in excellent condition, having been well maintained and loved throughout its lifetime. There were some updates and sprucing we wanted to do to make it our own.

Nearly 12 weeks of renovating later, we moved into our new house, Willow, Oct. 30th. We are slowly getting settled-in and it is becoming home. Members from both of our families were able to join us for Thanksgiving dinner. Christmas and New Years have been especially fun this year as well with cookie making with my girls and great times spent with loved ones.

So that’s the scoop on the last six or seven months on the personal side. What about Designs With Love? Well, DWL moved too! The studio has a wonderful space, with some great amenities! Having a space for DWL was always a requirement for me. I am excited to curate beautiful wedding flowers and designs in the new space. It is going to be spectacular!

Looking ahead -- what about 2022?

Well, as mentioned, we have a new space. So, getting settled into the studio in time for the 2022 wedding season. I look forward to the stunning designs we can create in our new studio.

I am also planning to revamp our website a bit so be sure you stop by and check it out. Our goal is to be precise and transparent. For many of you, this is the first time you’ve planned a wedding. I know there are a lot of things to do and remember, checklists, timelines, etcetera, etcetera. I want your visit to our website to provide you with the answers you need to make the best decision for your wedding. We want you to be able relax and enjoy your day because you are confident in our ability to provide you with stunning wedding florals.

I love flowers and I love weddings! My goal is to create arrangements you will love that will accentuate you and reflect the vision you have for your day. Flowers enhance the “magic”. You and your fiancé bring the “magic” with your love.

Whatever else 2022 may bring, may it be filled with love, compassion, understanding, grace, and even more love. “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” I Peter 4:8

God bless us everyone! ~Tiny Tim
