Bridal bouquets are one of the most important pieces of a wedding. All eyes are on the bride as she proceeds down the aisle, so which bouquet style is right for you? Which bouquet will complement you, your dress and your style? Your flowers provide the overall feel for your big day. They convey your story. So let’s highlight some different bouquet styles.

A very popular bouquet style, as popularized by Meaghan Markel, is the nosegay. The nosegay is a small, round, traditionally rather compact, bouquet of flowers.

A bouquet style that was popular in the 90’s is again rising in popularity -- that is the cascade bouquet. The cascade bouquet has a very distinct front. It is teardrop shaped sometimes with the cascade portion trailing nearly to the ground. The bouquet shown below is a combination of the garden style and the cascade style.

Soft and airy cascade bridal bouquet with hanging amaranthus, soft pink lush David Austen garden roses, blush garden roses, delicate jasmine vine, great textural scabiosa pods, blush ranunculus, ivory anemone, fern, tillandsia, pink and blush roses along with pink spray roses, and pink wax flowers in a hammered gold holder for Victorian woodland wedding at Evergreen Lake in Whitehouse, Ohio.

A similar style is the modified cascade bouquet. The modified cascade has a less dramatic cascade but still with a distinct front of bouquet.

The oversized or bespoke bouquet is currently a popular bouquet style. These are usually garden inspired and have a carefree, “just gathered” look to them. They are loose, airy and oh, so romantic. Warning: they can also be quite heavy. Something you will want to consider when carrying your bouquet around for long periods of time.

Another popular bouquet style is the hand-tied. These are traditionally round and have exposed stems at the bottom.

These are some of the bouquet types available to you. As you can see some of these styles can be mashed-up to create a look that fits your style and feel perfectly.
