Spring Wedding Flowers

I love spring! It is my favorite time of the year. It’s a welcome sight after a looong cold winter in northwest Ohio. Everything is so new, so fresh and green. Bright green little leaves poking their way through the thawing earth. Tree branches swollen as developing leaves spring forth. And the colors, the bright reds, yellows, white, and purples of tulips, the bluish purple of muscari. Dainty little bell-shaped crocuses, delicious smelling apple and cherry blossoms, delicate dogwood and the softest buds of the pussy willows. So many beautiful blooms, the earth awakening and stretching after a long nap.

All of these blossoms (and so many more) would look so gorgeous in a spring bouquet. Of course, since wedding are not far from my mind when it comes to flowers, I was thinking about a wedding using spring blooms. What a beautiful way to start a new life together, carrying a bouquet of spring blooms as you walk down the aisle. A bouquet filled with blooming branches like cherry or apple blossoms, dogwood, or some lovely soft pussy willow. Delicate jasmine vine with it’s purplish pink blooms draping softly across fragrant pink lilac, hot pink or dark purple double tulips, luxurious pieris, wonderfully textured green poppy pods, delicate scabiosa and hellebores paired with ranunculus and delicate blades of lily grass accented with spring greens such as fern and jasmine vine.

Pairing this luxurious bridal bouquet with gold hoops or triangles filled with many of the same spring blossoms for the bridesmaids would be divine. Twining the delicate jasmine vine around the circle or triangle accenting with the ferns and lily grass and bursting with luscious double tulips, deliciously scented lilacs, the fun textured poppy pods, stunning hellebores and ranunculus and dancing scabiosa. The pieris will put these bridesmaid’s hoops over the top with their delicate cup shaped blooms.

Can’t you just see these bright fresh arrangements with their lovely vibrant colors? Wouldn’t they look spectacular against a white bridal gown?
