What to Expect When Hiring Designs With Love

For many, the first time they are looking at hiring a floral designer is for their wedding. I am one who likes to know what to expect (sometimes though, being overly informed isn’t a good thing for me (think medical procedures.) 😊) In this blog post, I will cover what to expect when hiring a floral designer for an event, specifically Designs With Love (DWL), whether for a wedding, special anniversary, baby shower, etcetera.

Initial Contact

What happens after I fill out the “Check My Date” form? First off, thank you for filling out the form. The form is brief, but it gives us a basic idea of what you are desiring for your event. After submitting the form, we will review the information and any pictures or Pinterest boards you may have included. We will then contact you letting you know the minimum for your vision. This quote is very basic and will perhaps give you a clearer vision on the cost of florals. Again, for many, this is their first forage into the world of flowers and their cost (check out our blog post “Why are flowers so expensive?”) We are here to assist as we understand this is uncharted territory.

Consultation

Following the minimum quote, we will set up a time for a consultation. This consultation is free of charge. We can do an in-person consult, via Skype or another video chat or simply over the phone. We are on eastern standard time in Ohio but are flexible and will work to schedule a mutually agreeable time if you’re in another time zone. The consult will last 30-45 minutes, and we will review your pictures or Pinterest boards and discuss your vision for your event. We will ask questions about your event that will help us really understand the style and feel you are desiring.

After the Consultation

Following the consultation, if we all feel we can work together, we will get to work creating a synopsis of the consultation, perhaps a mood board and proposal. The synopsis is a brief overview of what you are desiring for your event and the style. This may be combined with a mood board which is a pictorial representation of the style and feel of the event. The images are intended for inspiration only. They are not a guarantee of a particular flower, color or overall appearance.

All of this, the synopsis and/or mood board, proposal, and our contract will be emailed to you within a few days. The proposal will expire in five (5) days. We do require a signed contract with deposit to secure your date.

Congratulations!

Congratulations! You now have a floral designer for your event. We will do our best to fulfill your dream and vision. Designs With Love prides itself on quality blooms. We are also quite romantic and maybe even a tad bit sentimental. We like to include little touches with our weddings. This includes selecting flowers, herbs and greenery with meaning. Included with each bouquet is a card with the meanings of the bouquet ingredients listed. We hope you feel the love as you see, feel and smell your lovely blooms.
